Safe Environment

Here at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, it is our goal to provide a safe environment for our children. The Diocese of Allentown requires specific background checks for all employees and volunteers. On this page, you will find links to all necessary clearances. You can also contact Teri Krolick, the Safe Environment Coordinator, for a volunteer packet or assistance with your clearances.

National Sexual Offender Registry

Fill out the form and email to RA-PWNSOR@pa.gov OR send application to the Safe Environment Coordinator. You will receive the clearance in the mail. A copy MUST be submitted to the Safe Environment Coordinator.

Lay Background Check Authorization Form

Fill out this form and send it to Teri Krolick at the Parish Office. The form is needed to create a profile in the Diocesan database for clearances

Sexual Abuse Policy

Read the Diocesan Sexual Abuse Policy, sign the acknowledgement form and send a copy to the Safe Environment Coordinator.

Child Protective Services Law

Read the Child Protective Services Law, sign the acknowledgement form, and send a copy to the Safe Environment Coordinator.

PA Criminal History Record Check (PATCH)

Complete a State Police Criminal Record Check (PATCH) free of charge for volunteers.

Code of Conduct

Read the Diocesan Code of Conduct, sign the acknowledgement form, and send a copy to the Safe Environment Coordinator.

Protecting God's Children

All volunteers age 18 and older are required to complete a Protecting God's Children class. The class is now offered online. Once you have your certificate of attendance, forward a copy to the Safe Environment Coordinator.

Volunteer Child Abuse Clearance

Child Abuse Clearance is free for volunteers. Use the link above to find the directions needed for this clearance.

Social Media & Electronic Communication Policy

Read the Social Media and Electronic Communication Policy, sign the acknowledgement form, and send a copy to the Safe Environment Coordinator

Mandated Reporter Course

All volunteers age 18 or older must also complete an online training for Mandated Reporter. Mandated Reporter can be completed either individually online or at a class. Follow the link above to take the class online. Once completed, print out your certificate and send a copy along with a signed copy of the Child Protective Services Law Acknowledgement Form to the Safe Environment Coordinator.
